General Motors is set to replace the directors that are managing communications, as well as human resources. Nevertheless, General Motors’ spokesperson, Greg Martin, affirmed that the callbacks are not associated with the replacement of Selim and Melissa (thetimesherald.com, 2014). On the contrary, Martin linked the callbacks to the Chief Executive Officer, Mary Barra, who took her position in February, carrying out her own hires in major positions. General Motors praises Selim for directing the company’s communications in a triumphant Initial Public Offering (IPO) in late 2010, following the emergence of the company from bankruptcy protection.
