Introduction

Ethical issues in business covers a lot of arear that there has been an introduction of
business ethic classes in numerous universities. Each and every business employee is required to
understand the importance of ethical issues and how the influence in carrying out a business and
managing the employees, should there be any case of ethical issues being violated, the issues
should be dealt with immediate effect. In this paper we are going to discuss various ethical and
professional issues arising in the Smith and NG firm account.
In the smith and Ng firm there are various ethical and professional issues affecting the
running of the business and the entire working place. The ethical issues include;
1.Discrimination in various work places
According to Tomaskovic & Stainback, (2007) there are various anti-discrimination laws
and regulations that every business needs to be aware of in the smith and ng firm. There should
be no case of violating the laws and regulations governing the anti-discrimination to be fined
There are various examples of discriminations that can occur; presence of doors with no
appropriate widths, lack of handicapped Accessibility and many others.
2.Conditions that are not safe for working
According to the regulations outlined by the Occupational Safety and Health
Administrations (OSHA), employees in the firm have the right to work in a safe condition. This
is to ensure effective running of the business and dealing with the employers.9 Former, Archer&

3.The whistleblowing
According to Mesmer-Magnus, & Dissevering (2005). various employees may tend to
blow whistles to the regulatory authorities of the smith and NG firm or even to the social media,

but business owners are asked to respect them and not punish them for that. They are hence
asked to encourage the employees.
4.Non-disclosure of important information from the firm.
Some employees or former employees may tend to steal important information from the
firm hence putting the business and even the business owners at risk. This might be data to the
clients used in direct completion with the business /firm.TO avoid this the employers might
require the employees to sign a non-disclosure agreement accompanied by heavy financial
penalties to avoid tis type of ethic violation. (Samudhram, & Shanmugam 2016).
Moreover, there are various professional issues that might still be found in firm.
Professional issues may refer to the professional organization outline. They include;
1.Mantaining the confidentiality
According to Alm & Wallace (2017) in a firm employee are asked to maintain /protect
the confidentiality of various professionals or information’s that are personal to the people in a
company. This helps in the reduction of disclosure of information important to the firm,
confidentiality may be reduced by either speaking to the clients in private place, by avoiding to
use the client’s names, or even talk about clients to the relevant people.
2.Enhancing anonymity
According Haddad & Saroit, (2017). In a firm, the business owners sold ensure that they
maintain anonymity as a professional issue to enhance proper running of the business and
dealing with the workers also. In a firm there are also various ways that can be used to maintain
anonymity, such as, there should be no pressure on individuals to participate, by enhancing
respect on the employee’s autonomy, and also by avoiding so much harm.

3.Respecting copyright
While working with other individuals in the firm, there should be respect on their copy
right. This is because the copy right is under protection since they are created. This maybe also
prevent disclosure of a firm’s information from work of various individuals. In addition,
according Meuwissen & Quick (2019), there are various advantages and disadvantages of
engaging an auditor to perform non-audit services. An auditor is a firm chosen by a company to
carry out an audit. the advantages include; knowledge from the client will make the auditor to
give out the services in a context that is understood, it will help the auditor because he won’t
need to obtain too much background knowledge before carrying out the work. There are also
various disadvantages accompanying this and they include, the auditor will be described as
independent, the work might include management functions, also some of the work may include
some acting and advocate the owner.

Conclusion

In the smith and NG firm, the employers and employees are required to observe the
various ethical and the professional issues to enhance an appropriate running of the business and
also dealing with the employees Also, due to the various advantages and disadvantages of
engaging an auditor in non-auditing services is recommended that they can engage in such
activities due to the positive advantages.
