I always knew I wanted to be a doctor. This is because of the interest I had in solving other people’s health problems. When I was still in elementary school, I developed a passion in the circulatory system. I realized I had a deep passion for surgery when I was in my final year of high school. My parents were also influential towards my choice. My father was a pediatrician. Every time I observed the love of patients towards my father, my enthusiasm grew. I also observed how my father was thrilled with his practice of medicine. I concluded that this was the joy I desired to experience in my career. This is because I also wanted a fulfilling career.

When I joined college, I decided to concentrate on vascular surgery. This is ascribed to my liking of solving problems. I am a good communicator. I am also very enthusiastic in whatever I do. My enthusiasm cultivates an interest in the progress of the patients I have interacted with. Through vascular surgery, I have realized that excellence is derived from a personal drive. I am self-motivated and have managed to bring hope to the hopeless. This can be traced back to the comments of some of the patients that I attended to. From level to level, I have received positive feedback from the patients who I have served and the workmates who I have served with. The positive feedback has motivated me to progress in this field of medicine. I have also found fulfillment in this branch of medicine.

I attained the Elementary Education Credential in 2000 from the University of California in Irvine, California. I later got the Post Baccalaureate Certificate in 2005 and Certificate of Doctor of Osteopathy from the University of California in Riverside in 2005 and Duquesne University in Pittsburgh in 2011 respectively. I am currently studying for the Clinical Education experience in general Surgery Residency in the Palms West Hospital, Florida. I have teaching experience acquired from years of delivering academic content to medical students. I have taught in Tuoro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York from 2011-2012. Presently I am at the Adjunct Clinical Instructor of Surgery. I have had various presentations. In February 2013, I had a presentation in Necrotic Gallbladders and its Complications. This was followed by a presentation in Gangrenous Limbs and Intervention in May, presentation on Acute Lleitis Mimicking Acute Appendicitis in October. In the year 2014, 1 had two Stage Repair of a Kommerell Diverticulum in March.

In addition to teaching, I have various publications through the Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Society. These are yet to pass all the stages for public utilization. One of the publications is ‘Treatment of Acute Symptomatic Inferior Vena Cava Filter Associated Thrombosis using Ultrasound Accelerated Catheter Directed Thrombosis’. The other publication is the ‘Female Gender is Associated with increased Morbidity and Mortality in Endovascular Repair of Thoracic Aortic Aneurysms: A Single Institution Experience’. I have received various certifications. Among them are the Heartware Ventricular Assist System, Medtronic Fellows Tech Exchange, and the Da Vinci Systems Training as a first assistant. I am currently a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Surgeons and American Osteopathic Association.

I am seeking a program, which will offer opportunities for significant research. The program should expose me to a wide patient base and opportunities for innovative procedures. I know that Vascular Surgery fellowship offers these and much more. I anticipate you will consider me as the most qualified candidate as I am deeply devoted to excellence. I have had an interest in improving the lives of people by solving their health complications through the field of medicine. My parents together with the medical professionals I met in my early years have nurtures this interest to a successful career. I have enjoyed tremendous love from the patients I have interacted with. This has brought immeasurable joy and satisfaction to me.
