A diagonal slice kind of management as Merlin Olson quotes it entails a situation where the management allows for participatory kind of decision making. In contrast it should be noted with concern that this kind of management requires a lot of time for the deliberations on the very many suggestions brought forward by the personnel chosen. This, in effect creates an ambience of delay in the activities carried out by the organization (Groysberg.B, 64).
