Cinema is not dead. The pandemic has bottlenecked the entertainment, and once the
pandemic is over, viewers would still opt to watch movies in larger theatres. The purpose of
cinema is to entertain and allow viewers to relax and be liberated, at least for hours. Also, cinema
can convey emotions via its pictures, communicate technology through its protagonists, teach,
forgive, and enlighten, to name a few of its capabilities. I still enjoy watching movies and plays
in theatres because the first theatre reminds me that I am not alone. Sharing the experience with
the artist and the rest of the audience makes me feel part of a large community. Films and
television lack the closeness and feeling of engagement that live performances provide. Not only
is sharing an experience with live performers and audience members beneficial, but it is also
vital for human bonding (Fröber & Thomaschke,2019). The theatre enables me to perceive
things from a different viewpoint other than my own. Humanity, motives, and conflict resolution
are all shown to me. As an audience, I get to see how other people's lives unfold.
I prefer action films and plays because they appear more real in the theatre big screens,
developing, and always modifying at the theatre. While the screenplay is the same each day, the
acting gives me a different experience each time I view them at the theatre. While present 3D
technology enables an immersive and engaging cinema mood, virtual reality is set to be the
future technology for movies. With the help of new initiatives such as dual Eyes VR, it will be
easy to develop a final product that employs full 360° filming and allows us to see movies in the
same manner (Weinberg et al.,2021).
