Introduction

British women have witnessed a massive transformation during the four years of World
War I. The women were affected both positively and negatively, bringing about a significant
change in society. It led to the social, economic, and political change in women's concept
bringing them to the light. The Great War is a watershed in the emancipation of British women.
The role played by women in war has brought about many changes in the women's status in
Britain.
Before the First World War, the female gender was glued to cultural and social norms.
Women were always to be submissive to men . Society did not care about female sexuality
making the men take advantage of that. A woman who is sexually manipulated with no
consequences since the traditions and norms had taken a better part of gender inequality. The
Great War led to the emergence of modern rules of feminist sexual politics and narratives of

were charges and punishment in case of such cases.
Women had no choice to sexuality before World War I. It was mandatory that the female

technologies. A woman who could not give birth was undermined by the culture and the
traditions of the society. After the world war, the technologies that emerged help the women who
were barren to be inserted into the hormone that they lacked, enabling them to become fertile
again. Homosexuality also came into the picture since some women felt like they were attracted
to their fellow women.
After the British women worked during the war, women's gender was now essential.
They were not allowed to work because their work in society was to bear children. After the
world war, they were provided with some jobs since they had proved that they could work

The ministry of labor had dismissed all the training given to women as unnecessary. It
came around to the time where the women had relatively high-level training to enable them to
have enough skills during wartime (). A woman can work all kinds of jobs that are assumed to
be for men, like military and moving machines. The women were given the right to education
and were also seen as an important person in society. It helped increase gender equality in
society, and women were carried the same as men.
After World War I, women's health was taken into consideration. Before that, the
physicians used to treat women. But after the women played a great role in the war as workers,
they started to admit women important in society. The women who had reproduction issues got
helped, and the expectant women provided with some time to rest so that they could keep the
baby in the womb safe.
Before world war, women were subject to do household works alone without the help of
the men. This made them not to acquire any other skills in society. After the war, they realized
that even women could work like men, and therefore the community allowed even men to share
household jobs. The household was for both genders, and nobody is subject to do it like before.
This gave the women the right to go work in society, and the men could also help them when
they are expectant to do the households.
In return, the women reacted to the changes positively and worked hard to ensure that
their rights are safe with them. Women had come up with many ideas that were not there when

job, and they have shown that anything a man can do a woman can also do it better.
Society has come to a better place where human beings are considered both essential, and
nobody is subject to do any task. Humanity is working together to ensure that everybody is
comfortable with their roles in society.

In conclusion, society at fast had neglected women in society. It has glued to traditional norms
that led to female discrimination that made men criticize them. The women were not allowed to
associate with men since their work was to carry out household work and give birth. After the
Great War, women could express themselves. They earned freedom through their work during
the world war1. This brought about gender equality, and the women can now participate in
anything and are considered necessary in society just like men.
