Family System

As stated by Bowen, a family is a framework in which every part had a part to play and roles to stick to. Members of a family system are required to react to one another in a certain manner as stated by their member, which is controlled by relationship understandings. Within a family system, the patterns and codes of conduct are established since the behavior and acts of one family member are determined by those of the other members. Following the same example of practices inside a framework may prompt adjustment in the family system, similar to dysfunction. This is true, especially in my family where my father was always strict and authoritative. Everyone had to follow his instructions and stick to his/her routine.

The greatest foundation of the strong and healthy family system headed by my father is communication. Throughout our interactions, we use various aspects of communication that include verbal and non-verbal communication for exchange of information. The good communication among the family members enables us to express our needs, feelings, ideas, and concerns to one another. My mother always encourages open and honest communication. She says that it creates a conducive environment for enabling family members to solve our differences and express love, concern, and affection to each other. For this reason, a communication methodology to families reflects the conviction that communication is “transactional,” which implies that interpersonal communication commonly affects every member. Hence, in open connections, members influence, and are influenced by others. As two individuals associate, each one makes a setting for the other and identifies with the other inside that connection. It does not make a difference what amount of talking one man seems to do; the common effect continues as before. Inside these perspectives, connections overshadow people.

Another interesting aspect of my family is conflict. While all members of my family enjoy love, peace, happiness, and support brought about by the family relationships, there are moments when some members undergo difficult times due to unresolved conflicts within the system. Since it is more troublesome to relinquish conflicted associations with family than it might be if these connections were negligible companionships, uncertain conflicts with family members can bring extra stretch at family social occasions. What’s more, different members of the family can generally feel this strain too. Consequently, my family has always dealt with various conflicts using discussions, apologies, mediation, and other resolution methods depending on the issue at hand. This is important because without a conciliatory sentiment or other manifestation of determination, the trust on both sides is traded off, and may not recognize what is in store from this individual later on. Moreover, once a conflict has gone on for a moment, regardless of the fact that both members proceed onward and remain amiable, the emotions of agony and doubt are typically waiting under the surface. This could be troublesome to resolve. Raising old damages in an exertion to resolve them can frequently blowback, as the other person may feel ambushed.

The structure of my family is patrilocality. Patrilocality refers to social framework in which a wedded couple lives with or close to the man’s guardians. The idea of area may reach out to a bigger zone, for example, a town, village, or family range. After marriage, my mother moved from her home to my father’s place that was within the compound of my paternal grandparents. Since then, they have never relocated. I desire this future, whereby I provide for my family. However, in order to achieve this dream, I will be forced to accomplish many things. Additionally, I will ensure a considerate and all-inclusive leadership. I want a family where each member feels loved and accepted, one in which conflicts are resolved peacefully and all members communicate with each other appropriately.

Similarly, the authoritative structure within the family is a patriarchy. This implies males are the essential power figures key to social association, involving being members of political initiatives, moral power, and control of property, and where fathers hold power over women and youngsters. It suggests the organizations of male leadership and benefit, and involves female subordination. Numerous patriarchal social orders are additionally patrilineal, implying that property and title are inherited by the male ancestry. A few sociobiologists, for example, Steven Goldberg, contend that social conduct is principally dictated by heredity, and in this manner, patriarchy emerges to be because of natural science than social molding. Consequently, this exact methodology of class creation consolidated recently emphasizes male strength over women and diminishes women in the establishment of image frameworks.

The family system, structure, authority, and other aspects of my family made me a determined, strong, and ambitious man. Being a male member of a family in a patriarchy, I have great dreams for my future family and I will always work hard to have a happy family. In my society, a real man is the one who leads his family in the right direction and provides for all the needs of his children and wife.
