The Relationship between the News Article and research Study

The Relationship between the News Article and the Study

The paper will seek to compare the relationship between a news article and a research study. The research study evaluates the social media influence over sharing of ideas and opinions. Today, the use of social networks has been influential in allowing people to share their views on public issues. However, it has been noted that the social media sharing could limit the dissenting views of people in the networks. Thus, people often wish to share crucial ideas with close individuals including friends and relatives. In addition, it will analyze the ability of the research study to explain the research topic through appropriate research studies.

The purpose of the new article was to explain how social media influence has silenced discussion over various issues in the society. It indicates how social media receives different opinion of person on public issues. Such a situation prevents the people to voice their opinions and relevant views on the various matters. In addition, the researchers of the article indicate that social media users are usually reluctant to voice their diverse views. The research study by Romero, Galuba, Asur and Huberman (2011) supports the ideas of the news article by discussing the influence of social media forces. It evaluates the information from passive users of the social media.

Most important, it identifies that social media has been able to develop and create opportunity to share ideas among different persons. The researchers determined that the influence of the social media is determined by the size of the audience. The primary statistics includes that the number of audience in a certain media promotes the transfer of information. Most of the persons interviewed were willing to discuss government issues with their friends, but not sharing in the social media. It also conducts appropriate study to determine the nature of social media influence on people’s views and opinions (Miller, 2014). Thus, the research study supported the ideas of the news article in understanding the influence of social media over public affairs.

The specific study is newsworthy due to its coverage of how social media networks including Facebook and Twitter affect the public sharing of views and opinions. The study is able to rank the social media users such as the twitter follows. This helps to understand the nature of identifying the active users in the internet. The study is also appropriate in ranking the relevant content for expanding the nature of social media interactions (Romero et al., 2011). Most important, it facilitates the understanding of the changing and real time communication. This affects the influence and attention of users in evaluating the government and individual issues and individual idea.

In large extent, social media has became has significant topic in understanding the perceived influence in the society. The study was able to evaluate the correlation between popularity and social media influence in the society. The specific study also guiders the readers in discovering how social networks could cover a large area. The ownership and communication of information has been a major concern in the society. Thus, the research study and the news article reveal the aspects responsible for promoting the supply of information. Therefore, the ability of the research study to evaluate the nature and influence of social networks in the society makes it newsworthy.

Some of the important information includes the methodology and results obtained during the research study. The researchers used user graphs to stream and present user data and information in the social networks. Thus, the user graphs were used in organizing IP algorithms that acted as a good measure of social media influence. In conducting the research study, it was assumed that most of people used the social networks in sharing ideas, knowledge, and opinions. It also involved a measure of correlation of different factors. The correlation process was appropriate in understanding high influential users to understand need of social media.

The news article did not present the study objectively as most of important information was missing. For instance, it did not highlight the specific methods as well as results obtained from the study. It should have presented the user graph to enhance the understanding of the readers. I think it was biased on explaining the overall nature of social media in silencing people’s opinions and ideas. The limitations of the study were based on its assumption that most of people use social networks to share information and ideas. This would affect the accuracy and reliability of the results obtained from the study(Miller, 2014).

In summary, the new article was to explain how social media influence has silenced discussion over various issues in the society the researchers of the article indicate that social media users are usually reluctant to voice their diverse views. The research study supports the ideas of the news article by discussing the influence of social media forces. It also identifies that social media has been able to develop and create opportunity to share ideas among different persons. The research study also analyzed the evaluation of the correlation between popularity and social media influence in the society. The news article did not present the study objectively due to the limitations on its assumption that most of the people use social networks.
