Wireless Technologies and Networks in the Work Environment

Wireless Technologies and Networks in the Work Environment: Collaborative Summary

The advancement of the technology in terms of the development of wireless networks of communication has completely changed the current ways of life. For instance, people are now using cellular phones, which can serve as wireless computers and mobile phones for sending and receiving text messages at the same time. Wireless communication has been associated with an increase in efficiency of work operations in terms of improving communication (Goldsmith, 2010). Moreover, the networks have enhanced the introduction and incorporation of new and better methods of handling business operations.

When one needs to start up his or her company, there are a number of strategies that ought to be incorporated into the business organization. To begin with, the entrepreneur ought to incorporate the best networking models in the company. In this case, the best alternatives would involve the use of modern wireless technology due to its numerous benefits. In addition, the entrepreneur should incorporate effective and efficient networking security measures(Tse & Viswanath, 2011). This case would ensure that the company is free from Information Security vulnerabilities that would otherwise lead to loss of data and access by unauthorized parties(Tse & Viswanath, 2011). In addition to these strategies, the entrepreneur ought to incorporate the correct wireless network management strategies. This strategy would assist in effective management of the systems in order to be cost effective, efficient and successful in regards to the workability of the network.

If I would be opening up a company, then it would be an IT firm that deals with the sale of telecommunication gadgets such as computers and cellular phones. The recommendations that I would make towards the wireless technology in my new company would include the use of proper authentication methods that would ensure safety of data within and without the company premises(Goldsmith, 2010). In addition, I would recommend that the company uses the latest wireless networking technologies and devices such as routers and hubs. This strategy would enhance the effective sharing of information within the organization. Finally, I would provide training to the employees on how to use the modern telecommunication and networking gadgets in order to prevent any misuse and mishandling that would otherwise lead to accidents and losses.

The incorporation of these technologies and recommendations may be associated with a number of pros and cons. To begin with the pros, the wireless networking system would be cost effective when compared to the traditional cable systems(Tse & Viswanath, 2011). This owes to the fact that there are no initial costs for purchasing cables and other hardware components since the system would not be using them(Goldsmith, 2010). Moreover, the system would be effective in terms of improving and fastening the communication process within the company.

In terms of cons, the use of modern telecommunication gadgets would be too expensive to acquire. This case would imply that the initial capital for the business will be high, a case that may be difficult to pursue. In addition, training the employees on the use of the wireless networking functionality would be too expensive, as well as time-consuming (Tse & Viswanath, 2011). Moreover, some of the employees may be reluctant to pursue the training with the perception that they are already aware of the operability of the gadgets.

My company would benefit a lot from these technologies since it would be dealing with the same gadgets as capital, as well as products. There would be improved communication within and without the company. Moreover, there would be safety of the company’s data.
